Our Mission & Vision
The Hawaiʻi Academy of Science (HAS) is a private, non-profit organization founded in 1925. The vision of the Academy is to promote scientific research & education in Hawai‘i and the Pacific Rim. The Academy is particularly interested in developing and executing programs and experiences for the science and learning communities.
Our projects include the Hawai‘i State Science & Engineering Fair (HSSEF), the Pacific Symposium for Science & Sustainability (PS3), Science Café and our latest: STEM Week Hawaii.
HAS is an affiliate of the following organizations:
- American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS)
- National Association of Academies of Science (NAAS)
- Academy of Applied Sciences (AAS)
- Society for Science and the Public (SSP)
