Subawards are competitive and all awardees must participate in the Science Fair. This program is supported by the generous sponsorship of local STEM enthusiasts. Interested applicants must submit their mini grant proposal and budget projection by OCTOBER 4, 2024.

The 2025 Hawaii and Pacific JSHS

Our annual regional JSHS, formerly known as the Pacific Symposium for Science and Sustainability (PS3), is a two-day enriching experience for young scientists to share their independent research projects, engage with STEM professionals, learn from STEM enthusiasts, and interact with other students. Top placed winners will receive significant scholarships and advance on to compete at the National JSHS in the Spring. Please visit the Hawaii JSHS webpage for more information.

STEM in Art

Students in grades 6-12 are eligible to apply. Please visit our art contest webpage for more registration and submission information. Deadline to submit is FEBRUARY 28, 2025.

Elem STEM Expo

The Hawaii State Elementary STEM Expo Program is a dynamic initiative aimed at fostering a deeper appreciation for science and critical thinking among young students. The Expo goes beyond the traditional classroom curriculum, providing elementary school students with the opportunity to engage in hands-on scientific exploration and experimentation. We’re empowering our local elementary investigators to explore the wonders of science in a fun and interactive manner, laying a strong foundation for a lifelong love of learning and curiosity about the natural world. We encourage all elementary students to apply! Please check out Expo webpage for more details. Deadline to submit is MARCH 1, 2025.
